East View Acquires EarthInfo Assets

October 31, 2012 By Editor

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. East View is pleased to announce it has acquired the domain name, trademark and intellectual property of EarthInfo from the company’s owner, Scott Edwards.

EarthInfo has provided environmental data and access software to researchers, scientists and engineers since the 1980’s, amassing a loyal customer base from academic institutions, government agencies and corporate entities worldwide. East View intends to develop a new web-based interface for the EarthInfo data products.

In addition to conveying his company’s assets, Scott Edwards has joined East View as the Product Manager of LandScan & Statistical Data. East View became the US Government’s exclusive distributor of the global population dataset called LandScan Global in August 2011.

Kent D. Lee, East View’s Founder and CEO, shared, "Mr. Edwards brings so much to the table. To start, the EarthInfo product line is well respected by many customers that East View has served for decades and we intend to continue some form of distribution and support for that product line. Additionally, Mr. Edward’s entrepreneurial experience will become a part of East View and he will increase awareness and business for the LandScan Global suite of products. In time, East View will create some very interesting statistical and census products and I see Mr. Edwards leading that endeavor."
