GTG End-of-Year Review: Social Media, Public Outreach, and Predictive GIS

December 21, 2012 By Editor

GOLDSBORO, N.C. – Geographic Technologies Group (GTG) – It is the time of year when we all reflect on the year past and plan for the year upcoming.  Our mailboxes and inboxes are flooded with magazines and periodicals reflecting on trends from 2012 and predictions for 2013.  The December issue of Government Technology magazine showcased their "2012 Year in Review" article.  It was interesting that a few of the major topics they discussed were Social Media, Public Outreach, and Predictive GIS.  Our team at Geographic Technologies Group has identified the same trends.  That is why we have created a new generation of applications that will ensure success within local government while addressing these trends.  Our 311GIS product has been a great success.  311GIS is GIS centric and the very best on the market.  We don’t employ the commando tactics that other companies employ.  We don’t have citizens sign up and bombard an organization with requests in hopes that the organization will be forced to embrace their solution.  We feel this is disingenuous and does not serve local government well.  Additionally, we have integrated social media into our full product set.  We allow our customers to search for pertinent "Tweets" across our products.  We leverage social media for crime analysis, outage analysis, and public perception analysis.  Also, we have embedded predictive analysis in our new GeoBlade Vantage Points Suite.  We would love to work for you in 2013.  As past local government employees, we have a unique understanding of your needs and how to make your organization a success.  We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
