Sygic Brings #1 Offline Navigation App Free to Millions on GooglePlay

September 25, 2013 By Editor

Sygic launches first free navigation app with MapmyIndia Maps that works without an Internet connection for India’s 60 Million Android Users – Now anyone can navigate India on their Android smartphone or tablet without relying on cellular data or an Internet connection

Bratislava, Slovakia and New Delhi, India – September 25, 2013 – Sygic, the leader in offline mobile mapping services, today announced that it will be making its app for India available to all Android owners free of charge. Sygic India: GPS Navigation, previously offered at INR 1399, is now free on Google Play, removing a barrier to entry for millions of customers. The sophisticated app is powered by map data from MapmyIndia, the provider of the most comprehensive, up-to-date and accurate road maps available for all of India.

Due to its heavy traffic conditions and unreliable data connections in many rural areas, quality offline maps are particularly important for millions of drivers in India, as well as visiting tourists to the country. Now India’s 60 million Android users and any other visitor can access helpful voice-guided GPS navigation and a robust set of tools to help them navigate to their desired destination.

Already the world leader in offline GPS navigation, Sygic provides over 30,000,000 global users with navigation in 115 countries and integrates data from leading travel and mapping companies like TomTom and TripAdvistor to give drivers an unmatched navigation experience. Maps in the Sygic app are stored on the user’s phone instead of streamed from the Internet like most navigation apps, which means that Sygic users don’t have to worry about running up against their cellular data caps by using GPS navigation or getting lost in an area with poor cell reception.

“By making our advanced navigation app available to millions of users for free, Sygic is helping countries like India become a safer, more enjoyable place to travel,” said Sygic CEO Michal Štencl. “With Sygic’s offline app and MapmyIndia maps, users can now take advantage of a robust set of tools that can help them effectively manage their travel plans and get them where they need to go confidently and more efficiently.”

Features of Sygic India: GPS Navigation includes:

  • Turn-by-turn voice-guided GPS navigation
  • 3D cities and landscapes
  • Voice guidance in more than 40 languages
  • Multi-stop routes and Drag & Drop route editing
  • Speed limit display and audio warning
  • Road incident sharing with other drivers
  • Sharp curve warnings for added safety
  • SOS/Help to find assistance nearby
  • Interactive map – tap on any street, POI, or photo to choose action

Note:- This free application is only valid for mobile phones and the use this free application in any other device will be constituted as a violation of the licensing terms & conditions.
