MCLEAN, Va.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–May 12, 2014— Exelis (NYSE: XLS) was ranked No. 1 in Aviation Week’s 2014Top-Performing Company study in the $1 billion to $5 billion revenue category.
The annual Aviation Week Top-Performing Companies study examines more than 50 aerospace and defense companies. The study analyzes the operational performance and business strategy execution of the publicly-traded companies among other factors.
"Exelis emerged as the top-ranked company on the basis of management’s effective realignment of the organization’s electronics-related businesses following the spin-off from ITT in 2011," according to Aviation Week’s article on the study.
In 2013, Exelis was ranked as the No. 2 Top-Performing Company for its 2012 performance among companies with revenues between $5 billion and $20 billion.
