Europa Technologies has today announced that a new version of its award-winning viaEuropamap service has been accepted into G-Cloud 5 – the latest version of the UK Government’s cloud computing framework.
G-Cloud enables public sector bodies to easily and cost-effectively procure services in a number of different cloud technology categories.
The new map service, viaEuropa Bespoke, extends and customises viaEuropa Cloud services from Europa Technologies.
viaEuropa Bespoke includes the processing, mosaicking, tiling, updating and uploading of third party data, so that it may be used either instead of or in addition to the Ordnance Survey base maps included as standard within viaEuropa Cloud services.
Examples of third party data sources include British Geological Survey (BGS), Environment Agency (EA) and JBA Risk Management.
Other data including historic reference maps, aerial photography and satellite imagery can also be provisioned using viaEuropa Bespoke.
Duncan Hill, Business Development Manager of Europa Technologies comments: “viaEuropa Bespoke has been created in response to customer demand for a cloud-hosted map service that is easy to consume in a broad range of technologies. Whilst Ordnance Survey mapping remains essential for many organisations, we are seeing an increased demand for the provision of third party data using the same award-winning techniques.”
