Rugged console designed for 3D machine guidance applications

June 10, 2014 – MAYSVILLE, Kentucky, U.S.A.— Carlson Software’s Machine Control Division has now released the new CBx6 Control Box Console, the next generation, ruggedized, touch-screen control box. It’s designed for use in heavy equipment utilized in mining, landfills, dredging, blast drilling, piling and for other 3D machine guidance and control applications.

Provided exclusively by Carlson Machine Control and its authorized MC dealers, the CBx6 Control Box Console operates with a fast, industry-standard Intel Atom 1.6GHz processor and includes MS Windows 7.

“Redefining flexibility and integration, the CBx6 builds on the success of its predecessor, the CBx5,” says Randy Noland, VP of Carlson Software Machine Control. “The 10.4-inch color touch-screen display is easy to see, even in direct sunlight, and the clarity is excellent.”

While the CBx6 is one of the most advanced systems available today; it is designed to work well into the future. Its communication ports ensure that future sensors and application features will be supported and the unit has a scalable option for enabling an integrated GPS+GLONASS receiver.

“Whether combined with Carlson Machine Control’s newly released MC Pro Vx6 3D machine control sensor or others on the market, the CBx6 offers true simplicity of operation, installation and reliability,” adds Noland. “With the Vx6, the full system can be connected with just one cable and, depending on the application, the integrated GPS/GNSS receiver can be activated providing truly, a one component solution.”

The CBx6 Control Box Console supports all of Carlson’s machine control application software. The system can be packaged with MineGrade™, LandfillGrade™, DrillGrade™, PDGrade™ and DredgeGrade™ software addressing most machine types. In addition, Carlson’s application software has the largest GNSS driver library in the world offering compatibility with most GNSS receivers including receivers manufactured by Trimble, Topcon, Leica, Ashtech, Septentrio and others.

The Carlson CBx6 Control Box Console is built for rugged for challenging environments and is backed by a three-year warranty, an industry exclusive. There is also an option to purchase an Advanced Component Replacement Option to guarantee continued operation.

“Our mining, landfill and dredging clients demand reliability,” says Dave Jordan, Carlson Machine Control National Sales Manager. “The advanced, integrated design plus the three-year warranty and Advanced Component Replacement Option provide a new level of support and system up-time. We have also added a faster, higher capacity 32GB SSD and a metal power connecter for the highest in reliability.”
