Geo News Tips and Some Geo Updates from Oct 11

October 11, 2011 By Editor

GlennA few Geo tidbits from today… Some interesting stats being touted by the latest mobile industry research it seems (methodology is still in question so take this with a grain of salt). Regardless, it seems that iPads dominate among tablets in driving digital traffic. In August 2011, iPads delivered 97.2 percent of all tablet traffic in the U.S. iPads have also begun to account for a higher share of Internet traffic than iPhones (46.8 percent vs. 42.6 percent of all iOS device traffic) – so, if you develop for iOS be sure to keep in mind both iPhone and iPad form factors.

And a few noteworthy PR items… Esri to Demonstrate Its Geospatial Technology at GEOINT 2011 – See How to Visualize, Manage, Analyze, and Share Geospatial Intelligence with ArcGIS; Webinar – Radar-Based Coherence Change Detection for National Security – Wednesday, October 12 @ 11 AM (GMT -4); GeoDigital MAP – Mobile Application Platform at GeoINT 2011 – Attendees of GeoINT 2011 are invited to come by Booth 1217 for a demo also and register To WIN a great prize; Dev Tip – Google Developer Day + GTUG Berlin – Nov 17-20, 2011. Oh, and how about a tip on a great deal – Think of it as a Groupon for GeoGeeks! Type for Maps and Colors for Maps, by Gretchen Peterson (@petersonGIS) are now $8 off when you buy both! Use code Cspecial12 til 10/17/2011.
