January 21, 2025 By GISuser

Des Plaines, IL (January 21, 2025)

The GIS Certification Institute (GISCI) has announced the testing window for the Geospatial Core Technical Knowledge Exam®, a key component of the GISP® (Certified GIS Professional) certification. The exam will be available from June 7 – 15, 2025 and will once again be administered through Pearson VUE’s global network of computer-based testing (CBT) centers.

Exam Dates: June 7 – 15, 2025

Locations: Pearson VUE Worldwide Testing Centers (locations available across the U.S., Canada, and internationally)

Application Period: Applications must be submitted no later than two weeks prior to the exam window.

Application and Scheduling Process:

  1. Apply for the Exam: Visit GISCI’s Exam Application Portal to submit your application.
    • New users will need to create an account.
  2. Pay the Exam Fee: Complete your payment during the application process.
  3. Authorization Email: After applying, you will receive an email with instructions to register directly with Pearson VUE.
    • Note: Scheduling emails will be sent beginning February 3, 2025.
  4. Schedule Your Exam: Choose your preferred exam date and location through Pearson VUE’s online scheduling system.
    • We recommend signing up early to secure the best availability for your preferred location and time.

Please note that the GISCI Geospatial Core Technical Knowledge Exam is available to individuals pursuing the GISP certification and is separate from the Portfolio Review process. Current GISPs are not eligible to retake the exam, and it is not part of the recertification process.

About the Exam:

  • Format: Computer-based testing (CBT)
  • Duration: Candidates have up to 4 hours to complete the exam (most candidates finish in approximately 3 hours).
  • Test Provider: Pearson VUE, which operates more than 4,500 testing centers globally, offers a convenient and reliable exam experience.

Additional Information:
