Imagetotext.info Review: The Best Online Tool For Converting Image to Text

May 31, 2024 By GISuser

Looking to give Imagetotext.info a shot for extracting text from digital images? Wondering if it’s worth it? Well, in this article, we are going to clear away all your queries related to Imagetotext.info.

We’ll test this tool multiple times with different text images to see if it can deliver exactly what it says. We will talk about it in detail, bringing you a clear picture of its features, functions, and pricing.

Overview

Imagetotext.info is an image-to-text converter that can extract text from images of different formats. It uses the latest OCR technology for image-to-text conversions. It can be used by anyone who needs to turn a text image into an editable text.

Features & Functions

Imagetotext.info comes with several features and functions. The most common ones include but are not limited to:

  • Multiple Languages Support – This is one of the key features of this tool. It can analyze and extract text in over 23 different languages. We tested it by uploading images with English, Portuguese, Arabic, and French text, and in all cases, it was able to accurately extract the text without any errors.
  • Multiple Image Formats –   It supports multiple image formats such as JPG, PNG, GIF, TIFF, and PDF formats. We extracted text from images in all of these formats and had no problems. It worked accurately, whether the file was a business document or a textbook image.
  • Download Text File – Users have the option to either copy or download the extracted text in different text file formats. This comes in handy when you are working with images containing a high proportion of text.
  • AI-Based Text Extraction – Artificial intelligence along with OCR technology works perfectly to extract the right text, even from blurry or challenging images. Users can expect quality outputs every time.
  • Free to Use – Although its basic free version comes with certain restrictions like only one image at a time, we appreciate that imagetotext.info makes it available for everyone without any pesky logins or something along those lines.

Pricing Options

The tool comes with different pricing options: Free, Weekly, Monthly, and Yearly. Let’s discuss them in detail below:

  • Free Version – Anyone can access the free version, which allows one image upload at a time. The image file size it supports is 10MB.
  • $2.49/Weekly – In the weekly plan, users can upload up to 50 images in one attempt with three times faster conversion speed.
  • $4.99/Monthly – The monthly subscription brings you the same features and functions found in the above weekly plan but for 30 days. It may be a good value for those with occasional image-to-text conversion needs.
  • $49.88/Yearly – For those who regularly need to extract images in bulk, the yearly plan may be the best choice. It allows 50 images in a single attempt with fast processing all year long. This plan is cheaper than the monthly package.

Honestly speaking, we found all plans to be very reasonably priced compared to alternatives. Even the weekly plan is reasonable for on-demand extraction needs. The free version is enough for anyone with average needs.

Putting Imagetotext.info to the Test

We’ll perform multiple tests on this tool to see how it responds. So, without further ado, let’s start doing some experiments with the tool.

Test#1 Challenging the tool with a blurry image

In this test, we will insert a blurry photo into the tool to see if it can extract the right text.

Our input blurry photo:

Tool’s output:

As you can see above, the tool extracted over 100% of the text correctly despite the heavy blurriness. It successfully passed our first text with a blurry image. Let’s try it with another test below.

Test#2 Extracting Text from Online Image URL

In this test, we’ll try to extract text from an image URL. Let’s see how that goes.

Our input Image URL:

Tool’s Output:

Again, the tool performed accurately, bringing us exactly what we were expecting. This feature makes Imagetotext.info capable of transcribing any text online.

Test#3 Testing the tool with an image containing a math equation

This is the last and final round of our testing with imagetotext.info. We’ll enter a text image containing a few math equations to see how it responds to it.

Our Input Image:

Tool’s Output:

Math equations with symbols can be a challenge for OCR software. But this tool is able to analyze and extract text from images math formulas and equations with about 90% accuracy, which is quite impressive.

Imagetotext.info performed well in all of our three tests. From extracting text from blurry images to analyzing and scanning math equations, it can do it all.

Final Words

We have discussed and tested imagetotext.info through real examples. So, based on our hands-on experience and evaluation, we feel no hesitation in endorsing it to anyone looking for a reliable OCR tool that offers effortless image-to-text conversions. It’s accurate, supports a wide variety of use cases, and has very reasonable pricing plans for all budgets.
