February 6, 2024 By GISuser

Do you feel as though your employee engagement isn’t what it could be? If so then this is the guide for you. Here you will find out what steps you can take to level-up your process so you can make the most out of every opportunity you have to connect with your team.

Fine-Tune your Onboarding

Remote work is really not going anywhere. It has even led to a crucial shift in remote work. Remote work is now the future, and many offices are turning to digital work full-time. In this new scenario, it’s the job of organisations to think about the steps they are taking and the hiring process in general. Onboarding is just one of them. When you look at traditional onboarding, it manifests as a number of meetings that happen to involve team members, managers and even HR. The reality of geographically dispersed teams is going to shift to digital so that talent can be managed more efficiently. For this reason, you need to make sure that you incorporate the social element across your onboarding process. You need to make sure that new hires are still excited to join the team, even though they are doing so remotely. If you want to keep this enthusiasm up then you need to set up virtual coffee breaks as well as team-building projects. You can even have Q&A sessions with leaders as a way to make sure that everyone stays connected.

Keep up with Social Engagements

Beyond onboarding, you should also look to implement employee strategies so you can help people to thrive. It’s a good idea for you to help those who might be working from home as well as making sure that you are continually creating new opportunities. Employees who might find themselves working from home may not be able to conversate with people as much so make sure that you keep this in mind. If you want to host events then sporting events are usually the way to go. Corporate challenge events are great here, as they give you the chance to connect with your team on a much deeper level. You may also find that you can help everyone to feel included. Companies such as We Are Massive are great for this as they have worked with Nike and Adidas in the past, not to mention that they have a community of young workers from which they can form a team that will turn your event into a roaring success.

Boosting Engagement

Beyond creating a solid social context that helps to promote engagement, hiring from within is another strategy that can help you improve your team’s engagement. Internal mobility is the practice of moving talent within your organisation so that you can better meet positional needs. This has taken on a new level of importance as companies are now looking to assess and then reassess the availability of new talent. As competition for new talent is always on the increase, you have to make sure that you are internally mobile because if you aren’t then you won’t be able to get as much out of our workforce.

As an organisation, it is your job to make sure that you adopt a solid mobile strategy so you can increase retention. On one hand, sometimes it’s a simple case of just making sure that you have the right technology within this landscape. Nowadays, you need to offer more than just a career. You need to adopt strategies to engage your team and you also need to cultivate relationships with your talent. This is the best way for you to nurture your employees while helping them to feel much more supported. If possible, you need to provide them with a personal experience when working with you too.  Incorporating a learning management system from the UK can further enhance your efforts by offering tailored training programs and development opportunities.

Make sure that you are engaging with them on a  personal level and that you are checking in on a regular basis so you can make sure that you are giving them the support they need mentally. Ask them if they have any interests and then take steps within the day to meet them. If you can do this then you will soon find that it is easier for you to get the result you want out of your employee engagement.
