Why does esports need web 3.0 technology?

July 8, 2022 By GISuser

Esports and information technologies. The most popular competitive projects can not exist without servers. Viewers enjoy live broadcasts. The progress keeps moving. Web 3.0 technology is coming. What should esports fans and players expect from it?

What is Web 3.0

Web 3.0 or Web 3 is the next-generation Internet technology that uses, first of all, a few brand-new features: artificial intelligence, machine learning, and blockchain technology. It allows you to create websites and applications, which can analyze information.

This technology is in development now and it does not have a clear definition. However, it is possible to determine a row of features, which are peculiar to Web 3:

  • There is no need to host servers and data centers. The users’ computers, laptops, smartphones, and tablets will take on their functions.
  • It will be possible to create autonomous marketplaces, in which comments with orders will be automatically detected by artificial intelligence.
  • Open source code will provide developers with an opportunity to find out quickly how the system works with a user.
  • The «semantic web» system will be introduced to process requests better.

How Web 3 can be used in esports

There are a few scenarios of using the new technology in esports. For example, a gaming console can be made based on it. Famous competitive games, which can be launched there, will rely on Web 3 technology. In other words, a server will be unnecessary to work with the Dota 2 or CS: GO client. A gaming device will take on its function. Everyone will have their own. And it means that there will be no input lag.

Such a console will be used by very different users. And it means that fans will get the ability to connect to a broadcast and watch it without delays in high quality. The comments sent by users will be processed by artificial intelligence.

The current situation and possible perspectives

For now, Web 3 is just an idea, which raises many questions for specialists. Only enthusiasts and big investors with crypto capital are on its side. However, there are a few directions in which the abilities of the new technology can be used.

According to one IT specialist, the service for content buying with a high download speed can be created on its basis. The technology will allow you to make many moderators less busy. The abilities of Web3 will help create a platform for the comfortable cooperation of sportsmen and fans, enhancing interaction through transparency and decentralization. web3 jobs are integral to building this ecosystem, offering roles for engineers, developers, and other specialists to work on projects related to blockchain, decentralized apps, and fan engagement platforms. These positions are crucial in transforming the sports industry by giving fans more ownership and participation in the digital experiences around their favorite sports and athletes.
