Mobile Phone Tracking Apps: What You Should Look for When Considering Which App to Purchase

September 25, 2020 By Editor

Are you looking at buying a cell phone tracking app? If so, do you know which software application to purchase? How do you research the features, benefits, and pros and cons of each app?

These questions are valid and each one deserves a considered answer.

By way of answering these questions, let’s consider the following points.

Researching the features, benefits, and pros and cons

In summary, reading cell phone tracker reviews is the best way to research what features each spy app has and what its advantages and disadvantages are. Most reviews include a section of comparative elements where the features of several spy apps are compared.

What mobile spy app features to look out for?

The answer to this question depends on what your requirements are.

Let’s assume for the purpose of this article that you are a small business owner; you have given all of your employees a mobile phone for business use. The challenge you face is that your trade secrets are getting out. You have a policy that allows you to check all company emails, so you are 100% certain that no one is using their work emails to sell trade secrets to your competitors. The only thing left to check is what mobile phone communications are being sent and received.

The best and often only way to track cell phone communications is to use a mobile phone spy or tracker app. Different brands and products include different features. Consequently, it is a good idea to determine your requirements before considering the different options available on the market.

Considering that your fundamental requirement is to monitor all communications sent and received on each of your company phones. Therefore, you will probably need an app with a full house of features, including the following:

  • Monitor text messages and social media chats like WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, and Viber
  • Audit social media interactions, such as Facebook, Telegram, and Snapchat
  • Monitor calls and list of contacts
  • GPS location tracking
  • Track Internet activity

Spy app purchase and installation

The next step is to look at all of the available apps to determine which software app to buy.

Before you purchase user licenses to a particular app, you must take the number of phones your company owns and each phone’s operating system (OS). Succinctly stated, there are two main mobile phone operating systems: Android and iOS (Apple). They are very different, and software applications developed for the one OS cannot be installed on phones with the other OS. Therefore, you must make sure that you purchase a spy app installed on all of your company phones.

The ideal scenario is that all of your company phones are either Android or Apple phones, not a combination of both. However, if your employees choose either an Apple or an Android phone, it is not a showstopper. All you’ll have to do is make sure that you select an app with two installation files, one for Android and Apple.
