DENVER, Colorado, 15 September 2020 – The IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium (IGARSS) is hosting a Geospatial Business Startup Workshop as part of its 2020 annual conference, which is being held virtually this year.

“Geospatial Startup Workshop: Creating a Business That Thrives” will be held live via Zoom on Thursday, September 24, at 1 p.m. U.S. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT).

“IGARSS is pleased to welcome this panel of geospatial business professionals who have played key roles in the early startup phases of some of our industry’s most successful companies,” said Dr. Paolo Gamba, President of the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society, sponsor of IGARSS events.

The Startup Workshop is organized by the IGARSS Technology, Industry, Education (TIE) Forum which hosts seminars, panels and social events created to broaden the professional experiences of conference attendees.

“Our Startup Workshop is designed for geospatial scientists and engineers who have no background or experience in starting a commercial business,” said Kevin Corbley, workshop moderator and presenter. “Presentation topics will include Legal Structures, Funding Sources, Pitching Investors, and Marketing.”

The workshop agenda is as follows:

Kevin Pomfret, Partner
