Built on the success of the Mesa 2, the Mesa 3 is the next evolution in rugged handheld computing and data collection. “The Mesa 2 was a new form factor for us, as well as our first full Windows 10 device,” said Jeff Delatore, Mesa product manager. “The Mesa 3 continues with that same form factor. It’s what is inside the Mesa 3 that sets it apart.”
The Mesa 3 sees the addition of a new quad-core Intel® Pentium processor that offers the speed and flexibility specialists running processor-intensive applications need in the field. The Mesa 3 also sees a huge increase in system memory (RAM), going from 4 GB in the Mesa 2 to 8 GB in the Mesa 3. This increase allows for more demanding tasks, larger datasheets, and more programs running concurrently. Running Windows 10, organizations and professionals have access to the data, mapping, and office software libraries needed to be successful.
Like the Mesa 2, the Mesa 3 comes in with an IP68 rating and meets MIL-STD-810G test procedures. These tests mean the Mesa 3 is waterproof, dustproof, and shockproof – ensuring protected data in even the harshest environments. The Mesa 3 also provides an increase in onboard storage, allowing for more recordkeeping, programs, and data. All this, plus the ability to have hot-swappable batteries, will keep users moving all day.
“It wouldn’t be a Juniper product without our intense in-house durability testing,” Delatore said. “We test our devices to meet the demanding circumstances that our customers work in every day. This isn’t a consumer tablet in a hard case, the case is the device and it was built from the ground up to be that way.”
