MFi Certified for iPhone and iPad Compatibility

Introducing the Geode GNS2 Sub-meter GPS Receiver

Logan, UT – Juniper Systems is excited to announce the release of the Geode GNS2 Sub-meter GPS Receiver. This new release of the Geode now features connectivity with a range of iPhone and iPad devices providing users with an even more versatile and powerful tool. This is made possible by the Geode’s new MFi certification. MFi stands for Made For iPhone, iPad. The Geode GNS2 retains all the features and connectivity of the original Geode while adding this support for iPhone and iPad.

The Geode is an all-in-one sub-meter receiver that provides users with real-time, precision GNSS data at an affordable price. Designed with versatility in mind, the Geode features one-button simplicity and can be used with any of Juniper Systems’ rugged handhelds, as well as a wide range of Windows®, Windows Mobile, Android® and now iPhone and iPad devices—a useful feature, particularly for bring-your-own-device workplaces.

“Since the launch of the original Geode, it has proven itself to be a successful solution for those who need real-time sub-meter accuracy at an affordable price,” said John Florio, Senior Product Manager at Juniper Systems. “The new Geode GNS2 now brings that same capability to those who prefer to perform professional work in the Apple iPhone and iPad ecosystem. With the Geode GNS2, now you get accuracy, reliability, and simplicity along with open operating system flexibility, all at an affordable price.”

The Geode features a small, compact design, and can be easily carried by hand, in a pack, or mounted on a pole, depending on each user’s unique application. Like other Juniper Systems’ products, the Geode is built to Juniper Rugged™ standards for reliable performance in harsh environments. The receiver has impressive IP68-rated protection against dust and water, and the internal battery provides all-day power.

The release of the Geode GNS2 also brings the Geode Connect app to the App Store. This release of the Geode’s companion app for iPhone and iPad includes a new battery monitoring function that allows the user to see the battery status of the Geode while in the field. This also lets the user see the Geode’s charging status while the device is plugged in. Geode Connect is a valuable tool for users to interface with their Geode.
