Planners Can Earn Ample CM Credits at GIS-Pro 2019

July 16, 2019 By GISuser

Des Plaines, IL (July 16, 2019) URISA is pleased to announce that the American Institute of Certified Planners has approved 73.0 CM credits for GIS-Pro 2019 in New Orleans.

The American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) is the American Planning Association’s (APA) professional institute and provides the only nationwide, independent verification of planners’ qualifications. Certified planners pledge to uphold high standards of practice, ethics, and professional conduct, and to keep their skills sharp and up to date by continuously pursuing advanced professional education. The Certification Maintenance program links AICP-certified planners to education and training opportunities so they may earn mandatory credits and remain current with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices. URISA is an AICP-approved Certification Maintenance (CM) provider and is pleased to offer ample CM credits for planners who attend GIS-Pro 2019 in New Orleans this Fall.

A total of 73.0 CM credits were approved for the program this year in New Orleans, ranging from 8.5 CM credits for full-day workshops to 1.0 credit for attending the closing keynote address.  For the breakdown, click here or download the PDF summary.

This event also earns ample Education points toward GISP initial certification and renewal. In addition, presenting at the event earns Contribution points, as does serving as a volunteer on the planning committee. Learn more about GIS professional certification via the GIS Certification Institute. Individuals who are pursuing GIS professional certification, are encouraged to attend this full-day workshop in New Orleans for a valuable overview: Preparing for GISP Certification.
