Several Must-Hear Speakers Added to the GEOINT 2019 Agenda

March 5, 2019 By GISuser

Premier annual intelligence event attracts more than 4,000 attendees and offers unparalleled education and training opportunities

Herndon, Virginia (March 5, 2019)—The United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) has confirmed several speakers and panel discussion topics for its GEOINT 2019 Symposium, taking place June 2-5 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas. The GEOINT 2019 theme is “Human-Machine Teaming & Innovation Yield Mission Success.”

“This year’s theme will embrace the ongoing artificial intelligence revolution and the incredible potential when machine learning is applied as a tool to assist human decision-making,” said Ronda Schrenk, USGIF’s vice president of programs. “Geospatial innovation is occurring at an unprecedented rate across government, academia, and industry—with commercial applications being developed worldwide. The convergence of these factors all contribute to heightened mission success.”

USGIF recently added the following highlights to the GEOINT 2019 agenda:

  • A keynote address by Vice Admiral Robert Sharp, Director, NGA
  • A keynote address by The Honorable Sue Gordon, Principal Deputy Director of National Intelligence
  • A keynote address by The Honorable Kari Bingen, Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence
  • “TED-like” perspectives on human-machine teaming
  • A panel discussion among Intelligence Community CIOs
  • A panel discussion about GEOINT’s role in response to the recent California wildfires
  • And much more to be announced in the coming weeks

The GEOINT 2019 Symposium will also offer a pre-symposium science and technology day June 2 called GEOINT Foreword. This forum celebrates geospatial achievements and programs underway in non-traditional areas. The 2019 Foreword agenda will explore topics such as working with GEOINT data at scale, 3D data and multimodal AI, training and education for a machine learning-enabled world, and more.

“USGIF is excited to frame an amazing future in which technology complements and augments human performance,” said The Honorable Jeffrey K. Harris, chairman of USGIF’s Board of Directors. “Advanced analytic techniques can tackle previously invisible problems that are now amenable to new solutions when humans and AI work together. Harnessing this power will yield improved speed to decision.”

GEOINT 2019 will also feature an expansive exhibit hall with more than 200 organizations showcasing their technologies, solutions, and services. Exhibit and sponsorship opportunities are still available.

Additionally, 58 hours of dedicated professional development, training, and education sessions will be held for a small fee. In these two-hour courses, participants learn about topics such as storytelling with data, tactical use cases for Google Earth, integrating AI with location intelligence, machine learning in satellite and marine imagery, and more.

GEOINT 2019 also offers rich networking opportunities throughout the week.

Visit geoint2019.com to register and book your room for the Symposium. Please note GEOINT Foreword requires separate registration.
