viaEuropa with Ordnance Survey base maps now on Tableau

June 6, 2017 By GISuser

On the opening day of the Tableau Conference in London, Europa Technologies has announced support for Tableau software in its award-winning viaEuropa service.

viaEuropa allows organisations to quickly and easily consume definitive Ordnance Survey digital map content as a service, without incurring traditional data management overheads. The support for Tableau means that the popular business intelligence software can now access the most detailed topographic maps of Great Britain. Combined with premise-level geocoding, viaEuropa allows Tableau software to be used for hyper-local analysis.

Europa Technologies is a partner of Ordnance Survey and can assist commercial organisations with product licensing. For public sector organisations, the data is free at the point of use under the Public Sector Mapping Agreement (PSMA) and One Scotland Mapping Agreement (OSMA). viaEuropa is available through G-Cloud 9 – the latest iteration of the UK Government’s procurement framework for cloud services.

In addition to the viaEuropa base map service, Europa Technologies can now supply its international demographics and global administrative & postcode polygon products in a Tableau compatible format.

Warren Vick, Founder and Director of Europa Technologies, commented, “I am delighted to see Tableau software supported by the viaEuropa service, together with our extensive range of demographic, administrative and postcode data products. I look forward to attending the Tableau Conference in London and discussing how organisations can utilise authoritative Ordnance Survey mapping and gain a strategic advantage from hyper-local analysis.”
