Spike Wins Best Product In Inventors Spotlight At Largest Global Hardware Event

May 19, 2017 By GISuser

ikeGPS announces that Spike, its smart laser measurement solution, took top honors among exhibitors in the Inventors Spotlight with the Pinnacle Award from the 2017 National Hardware Show. NHS is the largest global event in 2017 for retailers, distributors, manufacturers, and media addressing the home improvement and building industry, with more than 2,600 exhibitors attending the show.

Spike exhibited in the Inventors Spotlight, an area at the show dedicated to debuting ‘new and innovative products’ to the hardware industry. The United Inventors Association (UIA) sponsors the Inventors Spotlight area of the show and the Inventor Spotlight awards.

According to UIA Executive Director, John Calvert, judges for the UIA walk the entire Inventors Spotlight area at the National Hardware and talk with each new product representative. The judges then select a winner for each of three categories, Best Marketing, Most Innovative Concept, and Pinnacle (best in show). ‘Spike was selected as the 2017 Pinnacle Award winner because it clearly stood out from the rest of the new products,’ says Calvert.

Spike allows construction and trade professionals to get their field work done more quickly, efficiently and safely. Bringing new functionality to a smartphone or tablet, users can use the Spike laser device to measure an object simply by taking a photo.

‘It was a real honor to win the Pinnacle Award from the UIA at the National Hardware Show,’ says Glenn Milnes, CEO of ikeGPS. ‘This was our first time exhibiting Spike at the event, and we experienced significant interest from distributors and the retailing industry for Spike. Winning this award is another validation for Spike as we pursue the AEC (Architecture, Engineering and Construction) industry and also big box retailers.’
