2017 Terrorist Attacks Story Map Displays Count of attacks, victims by Group

April 5, 2017 By GISuser

A story map from Esri shows, in real time, Terrorist attacks that have taken place around the World.  The map keeps a running tab of the number of attacks as well as number of victims

https://storymaps.esri.com/stories/terrorist-attacks/?year=2017

This map, a collaboration between the Esri Story Maps team and PeaceTech Lab, uses crowdsourced data from Wikipedia to present a chronology of terrorist attacks around the globe. Wikipedia moderators include experts in the field of global conflict and terrorism, and the pages driving this story have been revised thousands of times since the beginning of 2017. As a result, the quality of the data on this map is constantly improving.
