Sanborn Oblique Analyst Added to ERDAS IMAGINE

Powerful Oblique Imagery Tool Enhances Widely Used Remote Sensing Software

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., Dec. 13, 2016 — The Sanborn Map Company, Inc. (Sanborn) is pleased to announce that Hexagon Geospatial, Norcross, Ga., has added Sanborn Oblique Analyst® as an extension to ERDAS IMAGINE, the company’s professional remote sensing software package. Hexagon claims it is the world’s most widely used remote sensing software.

“We are very excited about the Sanborn Oblique Analyst® for ERDAS IMAGINE,” says Mladen Stojic, Hexagon Geospatial president. “Through this add-on, The Sanborn Map Company provides a powerful tool to supplement traditional remote sensing workflows. This tool not only expands the power of our remote sensing software—it provides our customers with a new dimension they can use to make sense of the dynamically changing world.”

Oblique imagery is rapidly gaining popularity and presents all five views of a building, structure or property—nadir (looking straight down) and four 45° oblique angles captured from the north, south, east and west by five aerial cameras simultaneously. Sanborn Oblique Analyst® now lets ERDAS IMAGINE users select an area on a map, look at the imagery views of that area, select a view, and then pan and zoom around the selected area to measure, analyze and extract critical information from the imagery. A built-in compass feature indicates image direction and view.

“ERDAS IMAGINE long has been a premier remote sensing software, and Hexagon Geospatial continues to refine its world-class capabilities,” says John Copple, Sanborn CEO. “Hexagon’s users now have the ability to work efficiently and effectively with oblique imagery. The company’s decision to add Sanborn Oblique Analyst® to ERDAS IMAGINE validates Sanborn’s ongoing commitment to quality.”

Sanborn Oblique Analyst® also is available to Sanborn customers who purchase oblique imagery from the firm. Hexagon offers ERDAS IMAGINE in three product tiers: IMAGINE Essentials, IMAGINE Advantage and IMAGINE Professional. The software also is part of Hexagon’s POWER Portfolio Producer Suite, which also comprises the company’s GeoMedia and ImageStation software.
