Boundless Sets Coordinates for Massive Growth with Expanded Executive Team

November 3, 2016 By Editor

NEW YORK, NY–( Nov 3, 2016) – Boundless, the leader in open GIS, today announced that Christopher Tucker, a GIS industry veteran, has joined the company’s board of directors.

The company also announced two executive promotions — Tom Ingold to chief technology officer and Anthony Calamito to chief evangelist — and the appointment of David Hemphill as vice president of product and engineering. These leadership moves fit within a larger strategy to capitalize on the company’s current momentum and to scale operations for massive growth.

Geospatial industry veteran and visionary Christopher Tucker has joined the company’s board of directors. Tucker is currently a principal at Yale House Ventures and chairman of the American Geographical Society, National Solar and the MapStory Foundation. In addition to Boundless, Tucker sits on the board for the United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) and the Open Geospatial Consortium, and was a charter member of the National Geospatial Advisory Committee for the Secretary of Interior.

“Boundless is creating an exciting moment in the geospatial industry that everyone should want to be a part of,” said Tucker. Boundless has made huge investments in the evolution of its open source geospatial technology platform, which have made them enterprise class and commercially supported. This opens a whole new world for enterprise customers who seek to take advantage of geospatial micro-services within elastic cloud environments. Boundless is working tirelessly to change the GIS landscape forever. The company’s open source geospatial technology is paving the way for the future and I am excited to be a part of the journey.”

Tom Ingold has been promoted to CTO at Boundless, where he is responsible for the architecture design and strategic vision of the Boundless open GIS platform. Previously, Ingold served as the vice president of products and engineering at the company.

Anthony Calamito has been promoted to chief evangelist, where he is responsible for product strategy and outreach, educational initiatives and training programs. Calamito has led the promotion and awareness of Boundless and open source geospatial technologies for the past two years as the company’s federal CTO.

David Hemphill has joined Boundless as vice president of products and engineering. In this role, he is responsible for the management, direction and delivery of the entire Boundless Platform. Hemphill has a deep understanding of technology, open source and geospatial. Having served as the CTO of ObjectFX through its acquisition by TransVoyant, Hemphill brings more than 15 years of proven experience leading teams of developers to grow product lines and meet customer requirements.

“Boundless is growing at an astounding rate each and every day,” said Andy Dearing, CEO of Boundless. “We are confident that each of these talented and experienced executives will play a critical role in driving innovation and strengthening Boundless’ position as the leading provider of open GIS solutions.”
