RESTON, Va., Aug. 12, 2016 /PRNewswire/ — Leidos (NYSE: LDOS), a national security, health and infrastructure solutions company, was awarded the AIE-3 contract, a prime contract by the U.S. Department of the Army to provide automated installation entry solutions to the Product Manager – Force Protection Systems (PdM-FPS). PdM-FPS, formerly of the Joint PEO Chemical Biological Defense and now part of the Program Executive Office Intelligence, Electronic Warfare and Sensors (PEO IEW&S), is responsible for integrated base defense and force protection capabilities for the Army. With the PdM’s subordination to Project Manager (PM) Terrestrial Sensors in the PEO IEW&S, Army Force Protection is now consolidated and falls under one organization.

Under the AIE-3 contract, Leidos will provide automated installation entry hardware and software for approximately 35 military installations to deliver and enhance installation security (detect, assess and warn) through automated personnel verification and authentication.  Leidos will assist installation commanders and staff by enhancing installation security through automated personnel verification and authentication. The AIE-3 effort will provide a single standardized, interoperable and integrated system for Installation access control, enabling enhanced situational awareness, sharing of information and optimization of resources.

“Providing for the safety and well-being of the people that protect our country and their families is a mission of the highest priority.  We look forward to working with the PdM-FPS to enhance installation security and force protection and reduce troop-to-task functions by streamlining authentication and verification of personnel entering U.S. Army Installations,” said Leidos Global Services Group President, Mary Craft.
