Event Tip – GIS in HIgher Ed. Humanitarian Mapathon

April 11, 2016 By Editor

The University of Northern Colorado and ESRI are sponsoring a Humanitarian Mapathon in conjunction with the GIS in Higher Education Summit which takes place the following day. This event is *open to the public*
Join us for an evening of fun, socializing, learning about OpenStreetMap and doing humanitarian mapping. This is easy, a gratifying way to help some of the most vulnerable populations on Earth, and a chance to be part of the largest and fastest growing crowd sourced geospatial data project – OpenStreetMap!

We will map buildings, roads and waterways in Binga, Zimbabwe to support flood resilience projects from the comfort of… Nighthawk Brewery in Broomfield. Mapping will be based on satellite imagery.
