December 8, 2015 By GISuser

Hartley Wintney, December 8th 2015 – Getmapping Plc has been re-appointed as a supplier of cloud-based GIS data and software services to the UK Public Sector under the G-Cloud 7 Framework. In addition to assisting users easily find what they are looking for, the Framework provides them with a straightforward purchase methodology, enabling them to sidestep lengthy and expensive standard procurement via OJEU or Invitation to Tender. The G-Cloud has been refined and improved in recent years and is gaining significant traction within the Public Sector, as increasing numbers of users recognise its considerable cost and time-saving benefits.

Getmapping offers a series of cloud-based Geo-Information services including managed data collections featuring Ordnance Survey PSMA and OpenData, Aerial Imagery and a highly effective online GIS software solution. The web services architecture is based on OGC standard WMS, WMTS and WFS for geodata visualisation.

Pete Bonham, Getmapping’s Sales and Marketing Manager, noted that “our renewed presence on the G-Cloud is testament to being recognised as a leading provider of the fastest, most reliable and best value for money Geo-Information services currently available.” Getmapping is managing several major Central and Local Government Cloud Services contracts, the most recently awarded being the All Wales Mapping Services Framework to which 32 Welsh government bodies can subscribe.
