Story Map Answers: How have Canadians voted in the past 5 federal elections?

October 16, 2015 By Editor

With the 2015 federal elections only a few days away, Esri Canada has released a new story map that helps the public compare results from the last 5 federal elections

The map includes charts showing popular vote and number of seats won by each political party. Clicking on a region on the interactive map also shows a popup of election results details for that area including the elected candidate and party, total ballots and the percentage of voter turnout.

The map will be updated with 2015 data after the election results become available.

This map was built using the Story Map Series template available in ArcGIS Online, Esri’s cloud-based geographic information system (GIS) platform that includes several map & app templates. There was no customized code used in building this map. To set up a free trial account, visit http://www.arcgis.com/features/free-trial.html.
