Ubisense to Unveil New Software to Transform Inspection and Survey Operations at the American Gas Association Operations Conference & Biennial Exhibition — Ubisense executive to present on leveraging mobile technology and situational awareness to optimize field operations

DENVER– (AIM: UBI), a leader in enterprise location intelligence solutions, today announced it will launch its new inspection and survey solution next week at the American Gas Association (AGA) Operations Conference & Biennial Exhibition in Grapevine, Texas. At the conference, Ubisense’s vice president of networks industry strategy, Jay Cadman, will present and Ubisense will demonstrate the capabilities of its new solutions in booth #1331. This AGA Conference & Exhibition is the premier gathering of natural gas utility and transmission company operations management from across North America and the world for sharing technical knowledge, ideas and practices to promote the safe, reliable and cost-effective delivery of natural gas to customers.

“How Much Longer Will Regulators Accept Highlighted Maps?”

Cadman will present, “How Much Longer Will Regulators Accept Highlighted Maps?” on May 21 at 4:45 p.m. CDT. During this session, Cadman will explain the many issues with the traditional paper-based system, which requires field surveyors to drive or walk along miles of gas mains to detect leaks, and mark their progress using a highlighter and a paper map. Field surveyors then drive to the main office and manually transfer their data onto master paper maps. This time-consuming process is vulnerable to human error and oversight, and makes effective optimization impossible and proving compliance difficult.

Cadman will speak with attendees about leveraging mobile technology and situational awareness to move away from traditional processes and modernize all inspection and surveying procedures. Cadman will explain how utilities can combine data from GPS, geospatial information systems (GIS), work management systems (WMS) and real-time feeds, such as network sensors, weather and traffic, to prove compliance on-demand, gain efficiencies and collect more reliable, accurate data.
