Military Times Names Leidos Best for Vets Employer for 2015

April 27, 2015 By GISuser

RESTON, Va., April 27, 2015 — Leidos (NYSE: LDOS), a national security, health and engineering solutions company, was recognized by Military Times as a Best for Vets: Employers 2015.

The company’s continued hiring and retention efforts to engage veterans through relationships with military associations, service groups and the military’s transition assistance program are among driving factors behind the recognition.

Leidos, which ranked #44 on the list, operates a dedicated military veteran outreach program, Operation MVP. The list honors 74 companies who were scored based on a nearly 90-question survey analysis of areas such as recruitment, training, career transition support and company culture. Veterans and service members who self-identify at Leidos account for more than 15 percent of the workforce.

“The talent and expertise our veterans bring to the important work we do at Leidos every day plays an integral role to our company’s success,” said Sarah Allen, Leidos chief human resources officer. “It is an honor to be named among Best for Vets Employers by Military Times for our dedication to veteran hiring.”

Leidos is committed to providing career training and transition support for veterans, including mentorship through employee resources groups, such as the Military Alliance Group. The company also supports active-duty, veteran service members and their families through organizations in our communities (e.g. Wounded Warrior Project, Paralyzed Veterans of America, Tragedy Assistance Programs for Survivors, and the USO, just to name a few).

“Our dedication to hire, train and support top talented veterans extends well beyond our doors to local communities across the country,” saidMike Bruni, Leidos talent acquisition manager and Operation MVP director. “This commitment also benefits the greater business community where we’ve been fortunate to share insights and advise other companies about military hiring. This makes veteran hiring a win-win for our entire nation.”

The Military Times newsweeklies and digital platforms are a trusted source for independent news and information for service members and their families.
