Video Tip – TEDxFortMcMurray, Mapping the Now

March 17, 2015 By GISuser

An interesting TedX presentation from Echosec Systems CEO, Karl Swannie delivered at TEDxFortMcMurray. Karl looks at the now and future of Geo technology, sensors, visualization, social media, and the exciting World of real time data intelligence.

From the video… What happens when a cartographer looks through the lens of technology on the world of today? What do the Ferguson Protests have in common with a North Korean water park? How does social media overlap with the physical world? Join Karl on his talk: Mapping the Now.

Karl is the CEO of EchoSec Systems (@Echosec_Search), which is creating a Live Data Search Engine. With his 15+ years in technology he has been described as a “visionary, able to construct and execute strategies for new, ground- breaking products as well as the businesses that would create, market and sustain them”.

This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
