ParkMe And Xerox Expand Coverage Of Real-Time Street Parking Availability In The City Of Los Angeles

March 25, 2015 By GISuser

SANTA MONICA, Calif., March 24, 2015  — Real-time on-street parking is now available in Hollywood and Venice through ParkMe, the leading provider of dynamic and real-time parking data. In collaboration with Xerox, ParkMe has expanded smart parking solutions in these communities to save drivers time and money while eliminating stress as they navigate the city.

The expansion into Hollywood and Venice extends coverage of the Los Angeles Department of Transportation’s LA Express Park program. Using Xerox’s MERGE® platform, ParkMe helps travelers be more efficient with their driving and parking habits which can reduce up to 30 percent of urban traffic congestion.

“From sensor based infrastructures to proprietary algorithmic models, we are looking forward to a deeper expansion that will bring intelligent parking solutions to an even wider audience throughout the nation,” said co-founder and COO of ParkMe, Alex Israel. “With success in Las Vegas, Miami Beach, and Austin, ParkMe is creating a streamlined city traffic model by empowering drivers with smart information.”

Drivers in Hollywood and Venice, can now access reliable real-time rates, hours and availability where they need it most; allowing them to find the best parking spot quickly and easily. Information can be accessed through the LA Express Park website, ParkMe’s smartphone apps and at www.ParkMe.com.

This solution goes beyond just making parking easier,” said David Cummins, Senior Vice President, Xerox. “The ability for people to access up-to-the-minute information cuts emissions and helps cities improve traffic flow.”
