Dr. Karlin will present a recent project on Using Multibeam LIDAR to Construct a Hybrid DEM for Habitat Restoration in Terra Ceia Bay, Florida. The goals of the project included re-grading areas that were previously ditched for mosquito control and agricultural purposes, relocating Sabal palm trees greater than 6’, completing a survey of one of the sites, and map oyster beds and other hard-bottom features. Dr. Karlin’s presentation will encompass how these goals were accomplished using a combination of the latest software and hardware LIDAR solutions.
