1Spatial Becomes Gold Partner of the National States Geographic Information Council (NSGIC)

February 19, 2015 By GISuser

1Spatial To Present At NSGIC Mid Year Meeting In Annapolis, USA.

Cambridge, 19th February 2014 (www.1spatial.com) 1Spatial plc, the spatial big data company, is delighted to announce it has become a Gold Partner of the National States Geographic Information Council (NSGIC), whose mission it is to promote state wide geospatial coordination activities in all states and be an effective advocate for states in national geospatial policy and initiatives, thus enabling the National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI).

Members of NSGIC include senior state geographic information system (GIS) managers and coordinators from federal agencies, local government, the private sector, academia and other professional organizations. All of whom are committed to an efficient and effective government through the prudent adoption of geospatial information technologies (GIT).

“We are very pleased to have become part of the NSGIC community and attending our first NSGIC meeting as a Gold Partner,” said Duncan Guthrie, Director of Sales, North America for 1Spatial. “We are looking forward to participating in debates on how geospatial solutions can meet the challenges of the NSGIC community”.

“1Spatial strongly supports NSGIC’s mission to increase both the efficiency and effectiveness of government through the use of geospatial technology,” added Duncan.

“We are excited 1Spatial is engaging in NSGIC.  Our constituents in the states are creating and expecting quality data, and states are coordinating the roll up of quality data to national levels.  It just makes good sense for states to play that part.  When we visited with Duncan he immediately connected those dots and saw this as an opportunity to strengthen NSGIC and introduce states to 1Spatial.  We look forward to a long and beneficial relationship,” said Shelby Johnson, NSGIC President & Arkansas GIO.

Duncan will be presenting at the forthcoming NSGIC Mid Year Meeting, from 23-25 February 2015, focusing on the importance of identifying ways to increase automaton, whilst increasing spatial data quality for initiatives such as ARNOLD and NG9-1-1.
