Cambridge-based software firm AVEVA confirms its commitment to enabling talented young people to achieve their potential in Engineering

Cambridge, UK – 13 November: AVEVA today announced that it will renew its sponsorship of the Inspiring Excellence Programme for Engineering students at Villiers Park Educational Trust. Based in Foxton,Cambridgeshire, UK, Villiers Park helps students with high academic ability to raise their aspirations, improve their attainment and gain places at leading universities. The national charity achieves this through their Inspiring Excellence Programme five-day residential courses and their Scholars Programme (in Swindon, Hastings and Bexhill, UK).

Richard Gould, Chief Executive of Villiers Park said; ‘We are delighted that AVEVA is continuing to sponsor our Engineering course. Together we are making a considerable positive impact on the future success of highly able young engineers and scientists from across the UK.’

‘As a technology and software company we understand the importance of developing the skills of talented people who will become tomorrow’s professionals in critically important technical industries such as our own’, added Hilary Wright, Executive Vice President, HR and Business Services, AVEVA. ‘We are delighted to work with Villiers Park to nurture Engineering students, and to continue to support its excellent work.’

Villiers Park runs a comprehensive programme of support to help enable students from less advantaged backgrounds reach their full academic potential and gain access to leading universities or other centres of excellence, and to thrive once there.  They also offer an advisory service for schools, enabling them to reflect on their current practice and develop strategies so that all students, including the most able, are stretched and challenged.
