Oct. 1, 2014 – Victoria, B.C – CloverPoint, developer of Insight™, a system for maintaining records to aid in land management, has provided the Nisga’a Lisims Government with the Nisga’a Land Title System (NLTS), a comprehensive recording system to support the Nisga’a Nation’s Torrens land title registry. The NLTS will act as a system that supports the recording and registration of all entities, parcels, titles, charges, and orders associated with registered Nisga’a Lands.
The Nisga’a Land Title System, built on the Insight(TM) platform, is compliant with new Nisga’a legislation. The NLTS supports all operational work of the Nisga’a Land Title Office, including the automation of procedures for the registration of rights and interests for registered Nisga’a lands and provides the following:
– Reporting: Generates outgoing paper documents required by Nisga’a law and/or Nisga’a Land Title Office rules and regulations.
– Automation: Efficient land title workflows and processes
– Access: single access point to all Nisga’a land title information

About the Nisga’a Nation
The Nisga’a Final Agreement is the first modern treaty in British Columbia to provide constitutional certainty in respect of an aboriginal people’s s. 35 right of self-government, and is a tripartite agreement among the Nisga’a Nation, Canada and British Columbia. The Treaty came into effect on May 11, 2000, marking the end of a 113-year journey.
The Nisga’a Nation is represented by the Nisga’a Lisims Government (NLG) – a modern, forward-thinking administration rooted in the traditional culture and values of the Nisga’a people. NLG has the authority to pass laws on a broad range of matters. At the same time, Nisga’a lawmaking authority is concurrent with federal and provincial authority. Designed to assure democracy, transparency, and accountability, Nisga’a Lisims Government is comprised of NLG, the four Nisga’a Village Governments, and three Urban Locals.
