Logan, UT – Juniper Systems recently announced the forthcoming availability of its Class I, Division 2-certified Archer 2™ rugged handheld (Archer 2 Hazloc), designed to perform safely in hazardous locations where flammable gases or vapors may be present.

To ensure worker safety, OSHA requires that workers in some industries use only handheld PCs that have been certified Class I, Division 2 (CI, D2). Industries that require CI, D2-certified handhelds include various oil & gas applications, where work locations range from refineries to petrochemical plants, to oil rigs, and others. With the CI, D2 certification, the Archer 2 is certified to perform safely in these types of hazardous locations.

Archer 2 Hazloc also offers a number of benefits important for collecting data in extreme environments. These include a superior IllumiView™ display that provides excellent view-ability outdoors, an amazing 20+ hours of battery life, an ultra-rugged, dustproof, waterproof, and shockproof design, enhanced GPS performance, barcode scanner, and RFID-compatibility.

“Archer 2 Hazloc provides workers in hazardous locations with the technology and the reliability they need to accomplish their jobs as safely and efficiently as possible,” said Remington Rainey, Industrial Market Manager at Juniper Systems. “Every one of Juniper Systems’ handhelds is individually tested before shipment, so you can trust in the product’s quality. The Archer 2 Hazloc also provides features like extended Bluetooth® range, barcode scanning, and RFID-compatibility, which are essential to many of our industrial customers.”

Juniper Systems is accepting pre-orders for the Archer 2 Hazloc now. To learn more, see the Archer 2 Hazloc product sheet here:  or visit Juniper Systems’ website at www.junipersys.com.
