German Federal Police Select Intergraph Planning & Response

October 14, 2014 By GISuser

Software will be used for emergency preparedness and response operations

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., Oct. 14, 2014 — German Federal Police, one of Europe’s largest police forces, has selected Intergraph® Planning & Response to manage planned and unplanned major events. The software integrates seamlessly with the agency’s existing Intergraph computer-aided dispatch (I/CAD) suite and facilitates effective support and analysis for emergency preparedness and response operations.

Intergraph Planning & Response is a web-based system for effective emergency operations center and mobile command information management. This strategic tool is used for the preparation, coordination, communication, documentation and analysis of major events across jurisdictions and between different types of agencies.

“Intergraph Planning and Response offers agencies such as German Federal Police a common operating picture and fully-integrated solution for special operations rooms, command staffs, and command posts in the field, giving the ability to effectively allocate resources and plan response,” said Maximilian Weber, senior vice president, Intergraph SG&I, EMEA. “Most important and essential is the full integration and interaction with I/CAD. This modern and flexible solution allows information to be shared on incidents and units in a hierarchical and cross-organizational way, improving cooperation and efficiency internally as well as with other organizations.”

Intergraph Planning & Response is a networked, customizable, modular solution, featuring an integrated data model and GIS component. Modules enable communications, calendars and timelines, organizational charts and information, event management, mind mapping and more. As a web-based system, ad hoc, interdisciplinary, organization-wide access is provided to all data relevant to the decision-making process. Current positions of units and emergency services personnel are updated in real-time, and important documents such as site-plans, reports and tables are directly accessible.

Intergraph Planning & Response will aid German Federal Police in its public safety and security efforts. The agency has approximately 40,000 staff, including more than 30,000 highly trained law enforcement officers. The Federal Police is an extremely effective police service which plays an important role in maintaining internal security in the Federal Republic of Germany and Europe.
