Spatial Knowledge and Information – Canada is excited to announce its 5th conference to be held in Banff, Alberta in February 2015. SKI is the pre‐eminent Canadian geospatial research symposium. This conference convenes Canadian leaders in GIScience research with a focus on celebrating the research of current and bourgeoning GIScience scholars. Faculty, professionals, students, researchers, and post‐docs are invited to submit extended abstracts that will be reviewed by the conference program committee (a short form abstract is available to first year students). Accepted extended abstracts will be published on the Spatial Knowledge and Information – Canada website as well as in a permanent electronic proceedings volume. Accepted submissions will be presented in front of all conference attendees (no concurrent sessions). Presentations will follow a “rapid communication” format with presentations of 10 minutes with a 2‐minute period for questions. All areas of GIScience, applied GIS, geomatics, Geoweb, mobile applications, remote sensing, spatial and geo‐statistics, cartography, visualization and spatial analytics are encouraged.
