Professional Services Team Helps Free Enterprises from Proprietary Geospatial Solutions

New York, NY & Washington, DC – July 21, 2014 – Boundless, the leading provider of open source geospatial software and services, is pleased to announced a new professional services offering. The Migration Assessment professional services package is designed to help companies make the transition to open source solutions.

Conducted by senior geospatial IT experts from Boundless, the Migration Assessment service is a comprehensive engagement conducted over two days. It is designed to help enterprises evaluate and plan for the potential impact and savings of using open source geospatial software such as OpenGeo Suite in their enterprise applications and/or incorporating solutions from Boundless into their current infrastructure. The Migration Assessment enhances Boundless’ complete ecosystem of professional services offerings geared to creating applications, scaling implementations, and hardening product systems.

“Boundless software and professional services provide a scalable, enterprise-class geospatial IT solution that reduces the total cost of ownership by providing more flexible tools and removing per-seat licensing restrictions.” said Ann Johnson, CEO of Boundless. “Boundless want to encourage any company thinking about making a switch from vendor lock-in or looking to complement their current solution to start realizing the potential of commercially supported, open source with Boundless.”

During the Migration Assessment process, Boundless uses a combination of virtual collaboration and in-person interviews to capture details about each company’s as-is state and its desired direction, documenting all details about each company, including its infrastructure, software, current missions and business goals. Experts prepare a comprehensive report on the findings and outline the potential economic, cultural and technical impacts of each company’s migration to Boundless.
