exactEarth Receives Defense Intelligence Integration Enterprise (DI2E) Gold Star Recognition for the Second Straight Year
exactEarth Ltd. recently showcased the exactAIS Geospatial Web Services™ and the ShipView™ web application at the Defense Intelligence Information Enterprise (D12E) Plugfest sponsored by the U.S. Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Intelligence in Washington, DC. exactEarth is pleased to have once again received Gold Star recognition from the DoD in recognition of the ability to align with the DI2E Framework.
DI2E is a component of the US Defence Intelligence Enterprise that centers around the ability to distribute and make available information content that enables better situational awareness to military and national decision makers. exactAIS Geospatial Web Services are certified to be OGC (Open Geospatial Consortium) compliant, and by adhering to this standard, support integration and interoperability across multiple domains. The ShipView web application is built on the Geospatial Web Service platform and is interoperable and easily integrated. These open source data services provide users with the ability to access the most recent maritime vessel positions, speeds, and headings, as well as historical track data, and vessel metadata from exactEarth’s Satellite and Terrestrial AIS (Automatic Identification System) sources, in an on-demand environment regardless of client system. Multiple companies and organisations participating in the DI2E event consumed exactEarth services, including Esri, Envitia, Pixia, SierraNevada, ModusOperandi, BAE, MarkLogic, Oracle, IBM and others. In addition, government teams participating in the event successfully integrated exactEarth data and services.
“We are very honoured to once again receive Gold Star recognition from the Department of Defense for our Geospatial Web Services and now ShipView too,” stated Taylor Nicholls, Product Manager of Geospatial Services at exactEarth. “We are committed to providing the Defense and Intelligence communities with rich maritime datasets that are easily accessible and that can be seamlessly integrated.”
exactEarth currently provides high quality AIS data for a variety of projects sponsored by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Department of Defense, as well as the majority of governments of the G20 nations, the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO), and the European Maritime Safety Administration (EMSA).
