Bluesky Launches Online Map Shop with 40 Per Cent Discount on OS MasterMap

June 18, 2014 By Editor

COALVILLE, England, June 16, 2014  –Bluesky has launched its new online map shop with a 40 per cent saving on Ordnance Survey MasterMap Topography Layer. The Leicestershire aerial mapping company has developed the new online Map Shop to make it easier to access and purchase the highest resolution, most up to date aerial photography for the whole of the UK as well as the newly launched National Tree Map (NTM), detailed 3D height data and other Ordnance Survey map layers.

"We have introduced some attractive on-line pricing to encourage new visitors and repeat business," says Rachel Tidmarsh, Managing Director of Bluesky International. "The first of which is an unrivalled 40 per cent discount off Ordnance Survey MasterMap Topography Layer List Price. We will be promoting many other attractive offers such as free data and multiple purchase discounts."

"Feedback from the first few weeks of trading is that the online shopping experience we provide is a good one," says Tidmarsh, "words that are appearing regularly in customer correspondence include ‘intuitive’, ‘easy to use’ and ‘user friendly’; we have also been complemented on our ‘fantastic user support and customer service’ as well as the ‘uniqueness’, ‘quality’ and ‘currency of our’ products."

The Bluesky Map Shop is easy to use with visitors able to search for their area of interest by place name, postcode or Ordnance Survey Coordinate. Professional users can also upload GIS files, such as ESRI .shp and KMZ files, to identify their area of interest. The Map Shop preview window automatically displays the most up to date aerial image of the chosen location. However users can choose alternative ages of aerial photography or select from the other geographic data products on offer. Purchasing of data is simple, straightforward and secure and account options are available.

The Bluesky Map Shop currently contains nationwide coverage of aerial photography with multiple ages available for every location, and resolutions ranging from 25cm up to 10cm in many places. Visitors to http://www.blueskymapshop.com can also select 3D data including Digital Terrain and Surface Models (DTM / DSM) for all of England and Wales and LiDAR data for most areas. Thermal Mapping is also available on-line for selected areas and the National Tree Map data now covers all of England and Wales.  Bluesky is offering complete coverage of OS MasterMap Topography Layer and OS VectorMap online and has also created two new heighted building products from these map layers.
