8 Cool things About iOS 8

June 3, 2014 By Editor

So, the day has come and gone and Apple has unveiled iOS 8, the biggest release since the launch of the App Store, giving users incredible new features and developers the tools to create amazing new apps. So what’s the big deal? Well, there’s a ton to discuss about this release, however, to kick things off, here’s just 8 of the coolest things that you can expect from iOS8:

  1. iCloud® Photo Library, allowing you to enjoy your photos and videos more easily across your devices
  2. new Messages features to easily share voice, video or photos with just a swipe –  interactive notifications, quick access to key contacts, the ability to quickly switch back and forth between the inbox and drafts in Mail
  3. predictive typing for Apple’s QuickType™ keyboard
  4. Family Sharing, the easiest way to share purchases, photos and calendars within the same household – Up to six members can participate, each with their own Apple ID
  5. iCloud Drive™, so you can store files and access them from anywhere
  6. Conversations in Messages become more immersive with the ability to communicate with just a swipe
  7.  expanded security and management improvements as well as new productivity features, including an expanded level of data protection for key built-in apps
  8. greater continuity between iPhone®, iPad® and Mac, including Handoff to start an activity on one device and finish on another
