Boundless Finds Receptive Audiences at Broad Array of Industry Gatherings

New York, NY & Washington, DC – April 1, 2014 — Boundless, the leading provider of open source geospatial software and services, has a full calendar of events this month thanks to a growing emphasis on open source across the geospatial industry.

“Both the volume and breadth of events including open source issues on their agenda are strong indicators of the growing interest in this industry-changing trend,” said Boundless CEO Eddie Pickle.  “The pace of development today on web, PC, and mobile necessitates a flexible approach that simply cannot be achieved in the traditional proprietary model.  Open source solutions can help customers integrate with existing technologies while putting in place a foundation to include geospatial capabilities in future applications.”

Events where Boundless will answer questions and showcase new work in open source solutions include:

  • On April 11, QGIS users are invited to attend the first QGIS User Group meeting in the US at OpenGovHub in Washington, DC.  The day long event begins at 9:00 am and features presentations from notable QGIS leaders as well as workshops to help both the newcomer and expert QGIS user.

  • State of the Map US  in Washington, DC, April 12-13.  Boundless’ Jeff Johnson will speak on GeoGit-Based OpenStreetMap Import Workflows on Sunday at 4:00 pm.  Attendees can visit Boundless’ booth to learn more about using the company’s tools and services to work with OpenStreetMap.

  • Boundless heads west for its first appearance at CalGIS, April 14-16 in Monterey, CA. Jeff Johnson and Alyssa Wright will speak to attendees on the flexibility of open source for complex enterprise applications.

  • April 14-17, Boundless will be at the GEOINT Symposium in Tampa, FL to demonstrate the ease of building web maps and enterprise apps using OpenGeo Suite.

  • April 14, Boundless will participate in OSM Plus, an organization for professional users of OpenStreetMap data developing tools to be used commercially, academically, and in government. The focus will be on creating tools and businesses on top of OpenStreetMap. This is the second year Boundless will be a sponsor.

  • In Australia, Boundless’ Jody Garnett will be presenting at both the Eclipse Developers Day in Sydney on April 2 and Georabble All Stars in Canberra on April 7.
