BIG WATER CONSULTING HOSTS A MAPS AND DATA WORKSHOP FOR NONPROFITS ON THURSDAY MAY 8 – Nonprofit Staff Can Learn the Tools of Numbers and Spatial Data to Focus Efforts and Boost Donor Support on a Budget
SEATTLE, April 2, 2014 – Big Water Consulting will present Charting a Course and Telling your Story: A Maps and Data Workshop for Nonprofits on Thursday, May 8 at 10:00am for program managers, marketing staff and development officers to learn how targeted data and well-framed maps document impact and increase transparency to generate maximum support, while on a budget. This workshop will be held on the 4th floor of the 220 & Change building at 220 2nd Ave S. Seattle, WA. Tickets are available at eventbrite.
Recognizing that nonprofit management and staff constantly face the pressure of responding to questions about program impact and efficiency, while also being squeezed on budgets, Big Water Consulting is presenting this workshop to explore the essential numerical and spatial data tools that nonprofits will need to build on their narrative and prepare them with powerful and visual answers. “A combination of narrative, imagery and both spatial (location-based) and non-spatial data can help nonprofits tell their story,” says Kevin Klingbeil, owner and principal of Big Water Consulting. This workshop will also work to break down silos within organizations to show that data-driven transformation is dependent on cross-departmental participation to facilitate the most effective use of data and maps.
Participants in this 90-minute workshop will explore the uses of data on all aspects of project management and marketing and participate in small group exercises. These exercises will allow them to see how using existing newly collected data and maps could reshape their organizations and reenergize their supporters.
