New Apps Expand Energy Infrastructure Mapping to Mobile

April 4, 2014 By Editor

iPad Users can Locate and Analyze Pipelines, Transmission Lines, Power Plants and More

HOUSTON, April 1, 2014 — Energy Mapping firm, MAPSearch, announced the latest additions to their web-based platform, ENvision.  ENvision Navigator: Oil & Gas and ENvision Navigator: Electric Power are iPad Apps for locating, mapping, and analyzing North American Energy Infrastructure.  "There has always been a disconnect between the infrastructure analysts in the office and the guys out in the field," said Shawn McCarthy, Vice President of MAPSearch, "ENvision Navigator bridges that gap by allowing field personnel to locate and map assets from virtually anywhere."

ENvision Navigator: Oil & Gas allows users to search for, locate, map and view details on nearly 1 million miles of pipeline, and related facilities such as: refineries, terminals, pump and compressor stations, LPG Fractionators, gas processing plants and storage facilities.  ENvision Navigator: Electric Power functions similarly but includes: electric transmission lines, substations and power plants.  Users can click on the assets to view attribute information such as: owner, operator, commodity, status, and more.

The new ENvision Navigator offerings are expanded versions of the company’s first venture into mobile applications.  The original ENvision Navigator app was launched in December 2013 and focused specifically on infrastructure in the Eagle Ford Shale region of Texas.  The ENvision Navigator apps are currently only available for the Apple iPad and can be purchased from the App Store.
