Powering a Strong Economy: British Columbia’s LNG in the Global Market

The second annual international LNG in BC conference brings together B.C. community leaders, First Nation leaders, educators, environmental leaders, elected officials and LNG proponents from across B.C. and around the world, representing the vast reach of the LNG industry. This year’s theme – Powering a Strong Economy: British Columbia’s LNG in the Global Market – will focus on building the LNG industry in B.C. with strong partnerships between B.C. and world markets.

Conference delegates will have the opportunity to participate in the shaping of the LNG industry in B.C. by participating in topics focused on economic advantages for B.C. based businesses, specific career paths and skills training for British Columbians, Community & First Nation impacts and perspectives, environmental standards and B.C.’s financially competitive environment.

Building on the success of the inaugural 2013 conference, the 2014 conference will offer new exciting elements which include:

  • Extended program to allow more opportunities for networking
  • Additional premier evening activities
  • Robust agenda of concurrent guest speakers and panel sessions.

Also new to the 2014 LNG in BC conference is a full trade show exhibit featuring:

  • An interactive career experience for youth
  • LNG-BuyBC showcasing BC businesses capabilities in supporting the LNG sector
  • Government partners
  • Educational institutions

British Columbia is inviting the world to share and learn from each other in an interconnected and truly global industry. This conference provides an opportunity to develop responsible government policy and industry best practices so that B.C. is at the forefront of natural gas production and global LNG supply.  This will ensure the best outcomes for our global partners and a wealth of opportunities for our Province, country and future generations.
