Motorola Solutions Named to 2014 Global 100 Index of World’s Most Sustainable Companies

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. – Jan. 23, 2014 – Motorola Solutions (NYSE: MSI) has been named to the Global 100 index of the world’s most sustainable corporations. In selecting the Global 100, media and investment research company Corporate Knights evaluated approximately 4,000 mid-, large- and mega-cap stocks based on publicly available information covering resource, employee and financial management.

Motorola Solutions is one of only 18 U.S. companies to earn a spot on the Global 100, earning the rank of No. 50.

  • Now in its 10th year, the Global 100 is recognized as a key index in corporate sustainability analysis. Companies named to the Global 100 are the top overall sustainability performers in their respective industrial sectors.
  • Inclusion in the Global 100 index is determined using 12 quantitative sustainability indicators, including the amount of revenue companies generate per unit of energy consumption and lost time injury rate.   • Motorola Solutions helped initiate the Solutions for Hope project, a closed-pipe system of mining conflict-free tantalum from the Democratic Republic of Congo. We also helped launch the Conflict-Free Tin Initiative (CFTI) to source conflict-free tin from the DRC as an end-user.
