GeoConnections, a national initiative led by Natural Resources Canada (NRCan), invites you to learn more about the geospatial standards that contribute to successful online access, use and sharing of geospatial information. Good metadata is fundamental for the discovery, understanding, access, and use of geographic information for more than two decades. At the same time, the benefits of creating and using standardized have become clear. Metadata standards have been established and elaborated to define common metadata content such as the Content Standard for Digital Geospatial Metadata (CSDGM) and ISO 19115:2003, Geographic Information – Metadata.
