Graebert Announces ARES Commander 2014 2D/3D CAD Software for Windows, Mac and Linux

November 19, 2013 By Editor

Better Pricing, Performance and Feature-Set Across More Operating Systems than AutoCAD

November 19, 2013 – Berlin – Graebert™ GmbH http://www.graebert.com – one of the pioneering companies in high-performance CAD solutions for desktop and mobile devices – today announced immediate availability of its acclaimed ARES® Commander 2014 2D/3D CAD package on all three desktop operating systems: Microsoft® Windows®, Apple® Mac® OS X™ and Linux®.

Graebert-developed CAD technologies are in daily use by approximately 5 million design professionals in more than 40 countries in 14 languages through ARES Commander as well as SolidWorks® DraftSight®, CorelCAD™ (which are both powered by the ARES 2D CAD engine) and many more third-parties vertical applications.

Graebert is one of the pioneers in the CAD industry, having been a recognized leader for more than 30 years in the 2D and 3D architectural, engineering and surveying markets. ARES Commander was the first-ever professional CAD program to be available across all major operating systems after having launched a Mac version in February of 2010 at the Macworld® trade show. In 2013, Graebert’s founder and CEO, Wilfried Graebert, was recently granted the Leadership Award from the CAD society in recognition of his leadership in establishing a foundational platform for an alternative method to traditional low-cost design tools.

ARES Commander includes a full set of features to create and modify 2D or 3D drawings directly in DWG (any version up to the latest DWG 2013 format). Major new features in this update include:

o   New user interface ribbon bar for Windows as well as Mac-specific UI/UX
o   Major performance improvements based on software optimization
o   New design resources palette (aka Design Center in AutoCAD)
o   Layers and entities transparency
o   New productivity features for layers
o   Drawing Standards verification and support for .DWS files
o   PDF import
o   Quick grouping and ungrouping
o   A full list of new features is available at www.graebert.com

Pricing for a perpetual license of Ares Commander is 795€/$, which includes one year of maintenance and 199€/$ for every year thereafter.  New pricing options include an annual plan at 250€/$ per year that is all-inclusive as well as a flex license option that adds 25% to the cost but allows licenses to be shared across any OS or to be borrowed as needed.

30-day free software downloads for Windows (32- and 64-bit), OS X and Linux, as well as videos, social media information and additional documentation may be found at www.graebert.com.

“ARES Commander has been a runaway success since 2010, based on its world-leading performance, cross-OS support and compatibility with other ARES-powered software as well as AutoCAD®. We’ve taken all of those benefits, made them even better and added major new features and pricing plans that are going to disrupt the worldwide CAD market and serve as a wake-up call to Autodesk® and others that the value-to-performance ratio has just been redefined by ARES once again for 2014,” said Wilfried Graebert, founder and CEO of Graebert GmbH.
