deCarta Adding Live Traffic Video to It’s DevZone 3rd party developer portal and driver-Centric Connected Car Platform — Drivers will gain access to real-time video from TrafficLand’s network of over 15,000 roadside traffic cameras based on their location and travel direction

Fairfax, Virginia, October 23, 2013–TrafficLand®, the largest authorized aggregator of live traffic video in the U.S., announced today that it has completed an agreement to provide video from its traffic camera network to deCarta’s DevZone for 3rd party application developers and the newly announced Connected Car Platform.

deCarta, the leading independent LBS technology company, recently launched its Connected Car Platform to provide an integrated set of driver-centric services and content for automotive infotainment customers.  deCarta will integrate real-time video from TrafficLand with other location-based search, mapping and navigation applications and content to provide intelligent services to drivers in the context of their driving experience.

deCarta Connected Car Platform integrates TrafficLand video.

“TrafficLand is honored to be one of the initial third party content layers offered in deCarta’s Connected Car Platform,” said Lawrence Nelson, CEO of TrafficLand.   “This partnership brings value to both of our companies, giving deCarta customers easy access to their local traffic video resources, and by expanding delivery of TrafficLand’s highly reliable video content into the market.”

“Drivers today want intelligent, connected services that bring them relevant and useful information in a seamless fashion”, said J. Kim Fennell, CEO of deCarta”. “We’re excited to have TrafficLand as a partner to help deliver a more driver-centric, valuable experience to users of embedded and mobile navigation applications. No longer do drivers need to pinch zoom on a small screen to see the traffic cameras up ahead. Instead, by leveraging our patented Search Along a Route technology, we can deliver only those cameras that are located along the driver’s route. This significantly lowers driver distraction and provides more useful contextual information.”
