Platts Releases 2013 Edition North American Natural Gas Liquids Map

September 5, 2013 By Editor

NEW YORK, Sept. 4, 2013 — Platts, a leading global energy, petrochemicals and metals information provider, has expanded its portfolio of maps with the release of its 2013 North American Natural Gas Liquids Map. This detailed, printed wall map provides a comprehensive and up-to-date view of the the thriving North American natural gas liquids (NGL) industry.

In addition to the geographical components, this map offers in even more detail a combination of the industry’s key structural components found in the 2012 version – from the source region, to the pipeline, to the processing plant to the delivery terminal.

Utilizing specialized data from Platts analytics unit Bentek Energy’s NGL Facilities Databank, Platts cartographers have pinpointed industry-critical information within the map and provided information on the following:

  • Existing and planned NGL and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) pipelines, fractionators and steam crackers
  • Status, ownership and capacity of fractionators and steam crackers
  • NGL products, primary applications and industry sectors
  • Propane dehydrogenation facilities
  • Oil refineries

For convenient reference, NGL and LPG pipelines are labeled with the pipeline operator and system name. Detailed insets depict major NGL production hubs in the Texas cities of Amarillo, Conway, Corpus Christi, Dallas/Fort Worth, Haynesville, Midland and Mont Belvieu, as well as the greater Gulf of Mexico.

The map measures 42" x 66" and is available in both print and digital formats, or as a combination of the two. The glossy version ($495*) is suitable for framing and/or display, and the laminated version ($560*) can be marked upon to facilitate analysis and planning. An enhanced CD-ROM ($595*) encapsulates the wall map’s content in a portable format. Click here for full product specifications and purchasing options.

Platts offers approximately 30 maps and maps products, in addition to a wide variety of Geographic Information System (GIS) data.

Platts’ maps and spatial data have been featured by broadcast and print media outlets including The New York Times, Newsweek, TIME and National Geographic.
